As soon as you create an account, you can start interacting with FedaPay in test mode. All features of FedaPay are available in test mode, but you cannot achieve any real transactions. To start accepting customer payments, you must first create a live account then activate it.

Activate your account

Account activation is a simple process. After creating your live account click on the Activate my account button on the dashboard of your FedaPay account or go to the business settings and click on the Submit your account for approval button.

You have the possibility to finish this activation process later. However, with an invalid account:

  • you can only make transactions by Mobile Money
  • you are entitled to 5 transactions per week
  • the minimum amount per transaction is 100 XOF
  • the maximum amount per transaction is 5000 XOF

So submit your account to validation by filling the activation form.

Click on the button and you will see the form below.

On the Your account part, enter :

  • the name you want to give to your account
  • your originating country
  • your time zone
  • a clear description of your activity for which you intend to use FedaPay
Click on Next.

On Your business, enter :

  • the type of your business
  • You have the choice between NGO, Individual/Startup and Company.
    If you are an individual or a startup company, the Individual/Startup category is the one indicated for you.

  • the name of your company
  • your field of activity
  • the link of your website or application if you have one otherwise click on the We do not have either button
  • the email of your company
  • the company phone number, pick the country code and insert the number
  • physical address of the company/li>
Click on Next.

For the third part of the validation form, you must provide supporting documents for your identity and activity.
The documents required at this step varies depending on the type of business you have previously indicated.

Each business type corresponds to a given type of account. Each type of account has its specificities.

Individual/Startup account

So for an Individual/Startup account, you must provide:

  • the number of your valid identity card or passport
  • a copy of the piece by uploading it with the Browse button

With a validated Individual/Startup account, you can:

  • only accept Mobile Money payments
  • do a maximum of 10 transactions per week
  • receive on each transaction an amount between 100 XOF and 20000 XOF

NGO account

For a NGO account, you must provide:

  • the valid identity card or passport number of the Owner/Director/Manager
  • a copy of the piece by uploading it with the Browse button
  • the registration number of the NGO
  • a copy of the NGO registration document

With a validated NGO account :

  • you accept both Mobile Money and credit card payments
  • there is no limit for the number of transactions
  • there is no limit for the transactions amount

Company account

For a company account, you must provide:

  • the valid identity card or passport number of the Owner/Director/Manager
  • a copy of the piece by uploading it with the Browse button
  • the IFU/VAT number of the company
  • a copy of the IFU / VAT document
  • the RCCM number of the company
  • a copy of the RCCM document

With a validated Company account :

  • you accept both Mobile Money and credit card payments
  • there is no limit for the number of transactions
  • there is no limit for the transactions amount

The last step of the validation form, depending on you are:

  • Individual/Startup, you upload your scanned signature.
  • Account activation
  • NGO, you upload the scanned signature and enter the name of the manager
  • Account activation
  • Company, you indicate the name of the manager, the capital of the company and upload the scanned signature of the manager
  • Account activation

Click on Send for validation to finish.

Secure your account

Once your account is configured, you must protect it. Here are some recommendations:

  • If necessary, use Team to provide your employees a limited access to your account :
  • You will be able to add other users to your FedaPay account so that they can connect and perform some actions but in a limited way.

  • Regularly update your computer and browser:
  • We recommend that you configure your computer to automatically download and install updates (for example, macOS or Windows). This allows to protect your system against automated attacks and malware.

  • Beware of phishing.
    All genuine FedaPay sites use the fedapay.com domain and are HTTPS.
  • If you receive an e-mail from us that you did not expect, go directly to our website to log in. Do not enter your password after clicking on a link in the email. If you're not sure that it's really us.

    Check the validation certificate. This usually looks like a green lock next to the URL, and allows you to know that you are really on the FedaPay website. Secured website
